Mental Health Nursing Interview Coach

Accessibility statement

This is a placeholder accessibility statement for the Mental Health Nursing Interview Coach foundation. It should be reviewed and, where necessary, completed with the results of a real accessibility audit before this service is used with real applicants.

Our aim

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA as far as reasonably possible, and to make this service usable by anxious applicants and by people using assistive technology, including keyboard-only navigation and screen readers.

What we support

  • Full keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators throughout, including the audio recorder.
  • Descriptive labels for form fields, buttons and interactive controls.
  • Colour contrast intended to meet WCAG 2.2 AA.
  • Respect for your operating system's reduced motion preference.
  • Error messages that use text and icons, not colour alone.
  • A text-based alternative to spoken interview questions (see the interview screen's "show question as text" option).
  • A pause control, so you can take a break from the interview at any time.
  • Automated accessibility scanning (axe-core) of key pages as part of our automated tests, currently passing with no detected violations.

Known limitations

The application has been designed and tested against key WCAG 2.2 AA requirements. A complete independent accessibility audit has not yet been conducted. Live speech transcription and spoken question audio are not yet connected to the live interview screen, so captions for spoken questions cannot yet be fully evaluated. We have not yet tested this service with real screen-reader users.
